So…the vegan experiment didn’t last all of January. I still have some pretty serious food addictions that involve the use of milk and eggs (cookies). I’m still vegetarian, though! I resolve to be vegan-ish. This week’s experiment is to eat nothing processed. Raw. We’ll see how that goes. I’ve been eating pretty sh*tty lately, so this is an attempt at a detox. Hopefully I can get myself back on track. No soda. No cheese. No bad sugar. That is the goal.

Too the best of my knowledge I am still vegan. This is quite the accomplishment as over the weekend I went to see my brother and his family and the live in a very southern town where all the restaurants serve deep fried everything meaty cheesy or otherwise. Healthy food there is rare and only found at grocery stores. So I took an ice chest of vegan food, and yes his family gave me weird looks, but it was worth it to finally eat well when on the road. Woohoo! It was someone’s birthday and they all gave me crap about not having any of the birthday cake, but whatever.
In regards to my healthy eating habits and why I won’t eat meat, cake or other unhealthy things, my sister-in-law says, “You know too much.” And I think, but don’t want to cause a debate, “You don’t know enough. You wouldn’t eat it either!!!” Seriously want to make her read Skinny Bitch or Veganist and then get her opinion on my eating habits after that.
Hey…I had only been vegan for 5 days in a row previous to this year’s attempt!!! Onward!!!

HA! I did it! I finally worked out today. First time in two weeks. Did a workout video, felt it didn’t give me enough of a workout, so after a snack on some lentil soup (I made it myself!) I went running twice around the 3 mile loop near my house. Legs…officially worked out. Woohoo!
My dinner was a sweet potato, black bean, corn salad with Gardein beefless tips thrown on top. Delicioso! And filling.
I meant to go to Whole Foods today to get some form of vegan dessert to tame my sweet tooth, but ran out of time in the afternoon. Now I’m thinking I don’t need any for today. Don’t know, though. Could totally change my mind in an hour…
